“I must thank early supporters of the project, Carolyn Kramer, Pete Hocking and John Dowd. John introduced me to Norma Holts' portraits of Provincetown artists made a generation before mine. Bumping into John for a few minutes on Commercial Street is a masterclass of Provincetown history. I always learn something by talking with him. Like John, Pete always teaches me something. I value his thoughtful and wise insight. It always comes with a dash of cynicism, which I appreciate. Whenever I needed some names of artists overlooked by others, I could turn to Pete. And what can I say about Carolyn? We are two New Yorkers who used to work in the fashion industry and share a love of a small fishing village at the tip of Cape Cod. We had an instant bond. Her early support and enthusiasm for this project truly pushed me forward. Like John and Pete, Carolyn informed this project in ways that made it deeper and more profound.”
